Sold Pictures

It is time to show some of the stuff that has sold the last couple of months.  Despite my last hectic weeks when life took over my booth playing time, I have sold just as much as I did for Christmas!  Who knew February and early March would be so good?  Well, then again, what else is there to do in Maine during winter besides ruining knees while skiing or antique shopping? I should have done the latter myself.

 

Lots of random things sold, from that horse needlepoint picture to insulting ammo boxes.  TV-trays, aprons, pans, ashtray, airplane and magazine holder all found new homes.

 



It finally sold!  This old school desk had been with me since I moved into the bigger booth and had sort of become part of the booth itself.  I also used to store my handbag, cell phone and keys in there when I was organizing my booth.  Now where to put it all?

 



 

The lamb planter sold even though I had (unintentionally) mislabeled it as a poodle.  Also, the white hairdryer case sold after I removed the hairdryer inside and relabeled it "Retro White Train Case". 

 



 

The rocking horse is also rocking somewhere else.  With that and my desk gone, I need to find some larger pieces to put in my booth.  It's a rather nice problem to have!

 



Yes, another olivetti sold itself pretty fast.  Ca-ching!

 



Winter. Maine. Hot drinks. Thermos.  All sold. No-brainer, really.

 



 

Enamel dishes, teak pepper shaker, alligator ashtrays and a Tang pitcher.  Somebody's home is getting groovier.

 

I also sold a LOT of mugs, but I am tired of posting mugshots, so just take my word for it.

Monthly Sold Pics

December was a good month in terms of sales - I made the most to date and ended up with a couple of bonus Franklins after rent and cost of items.   Since this is mainly a hobby for me (I work freelance from home), it gets stashed away in a travel rainy day fund. Lots of the "expected" things sold, but also a lot of my stale "been-there-since-I-opened-my-booth" items finally disappeared.  The latter is the most exciting for me since slow turnover can become a mental annoyance issue after a while.  Here are some pictures of some of the things that sold last month.  As I have said before, pictures are a lot more fun to look at than spreadsheets!

Orange enamel dishes, starburst mini plates, Polish ceramic bowl, Maine kids book and a wood plane. How is that for a mismatched vignette...?

This very large cactus crewel picture sold, even though it was placed in a terrible spot by the floor.

Thank goodness these hideous charming pink lamp shades sold.  Will not miss them much.

Pyrex disappeared, as expected.  As well as another set of Mad Men roly polies (this is my 6th set!).

Sort of sad to see this canvas picture go.  Could easily have put that one on my own office wall.

Faux French tray finally sold. Does it qualify as shabby-chic?

These yellow footed juice glasses had been with me since the beginning.  Happy to see them go.

Did somebody finally figure out what the initials said?  Happy that it found its destined owner.

I put this in my booth with no takers for about a month.  Put it on ebay, and it sold in days for twice my booth price.  Danish design always does well online, and since it was not glass, I was ok with the shipping part.

I can't explain it.  I would not have bought these mugs.  Well, Scooby Doo is kinda cool, even a newer one.

Lots of kitchen stuff disappeared. The red pot sold earlier, but last month the other things sold.

Cool red fish paper lantern disappeared.  However, nobody plays vintage tennis during winter in Maine.

Finally!  These vintage raffia cups had been with me since the beginning.

The fisherman finally found his home.

I really liked the design of this magazine rack.  Now hopefully holding some fancy magazines.

Sold in a day.  No surprise there.  Good ol' Garfield.

Mugs with dogs always seem to sell, just have to wait for the right dog breed owner.
Update: The cards/scorecards set in the back was not sold, just misplaced.

Lots of fun kitschy stuff sold.

Scrabble and domino tiles are big sellers.  This basket was almost empty in January.

The kids did alright with their stuff too!  Also, both suitcases sold.

Vintage metal trays are good sellers.

Ah yes, all owls are gone - no surprise there.  But also the stone troll and barrel lighter that had been sitting around since the start of the booth. Yes!

And more mugs - smurfs, Garfield and Otagiri cowboy kittens.  Several more mugs sold in other parts of the booth.  Never thought I would sell so many mugs, but hey - they are fun, abundant at thrifts and take hardly any space.  And the $5 price seem just the right price point for my customers.

Some Sold Pics

It has been a while since I showed some pictures of what has sold in my booth.  I like going back and visually look at what has sold instead of just looking at the spreadsheets.  It also serves as a reminder of what types of things I should focus on. Hopefully it might give you some pointers too.  

 

As predicted in a previous post, this kitschy tray sold right away.

Mad Men glasses don't stay around very long when placed in front of my Mad Maine sign.

Somebody's kitchen is a little more cheerful.

My beloved Coleman cooler finally sold.  A little sad to see it missing in action.

Vintage kitchen stuff sells.  But I am getting tired of looking at that fondue pot.

Sad puppy and Florida souvenir plate are gone. One salt glaze beer stein sold, and I found the other one broken.  Oh well, I chalk it up to a two-for-one sale.

I always sell a few mugs every month.  Here are a couple that sold recently.

A couple of Christmas tins.

Owls are still hot.  A pair of salt and pepper shakers and a necklace.

Remember how I complained about these stylish pieces being left behind?  Well, now they are styling up somebody's home.

Another set of Mad Men glasses (which sold as soon as I placed them in front of my Mad Maine sign).

A couple of pans, a planter and a table (which I did not intend to sell, just use as a display piece.  I got a phone call, and decided a sale was better than a generic display piece).

Hopefully hanging in a little boy's room.
