Mad Maine Vintage Shop

This little blog will chronicle my ventures into selling vintage items in a local antique market.
My booth is called Mad Maine Vintage Shop - it features items inspired by a certain popular TV show,
and I am located in lovely Maine. Viva Vintage!

Woodstock, Scandinavian Trinkets and a Nutty Cookie Jar

How cool is this little money bank in the form of Woodstock?  I still can hardly believe he survived the donation process to Goodwill, being handled by people in the stock room, and then sitting on the shelf until I found him without suffering a tiny chip anywhere! He is so fun, and I am still deciding whether to put him in my vintage booth or sell him online.  If I do the latter, I already have him photographed well since I just got a lightbox in the mail!  Finally I can take semi-professional photos as well. I love this thing!

The rest of this weekend's haul can be seen in the video below.  I am starting to enjoy the ease of making youtube videos.  Do you like watching haul videos or do you prefer pictures?

  1. Very good job on the video - sometimes, I feel like I don't have time to watch a video, so pictures are good on those times.

Love the Woodstock bank - Snoopy stuff is very scarce around here...

    1. Thanks Jill. I feel the same way, and sometimes I just want quiet and no video noise when I am at my computer :-)

  2. I really like that brass planter, and the woodstock is very cute. Interested to see your lightbox photos, as I've never tried one. Have a great week!

    1. The brass planter is now holding some Nancy Drew books in my booth :-) It has a great shape for display purposes!

  3. I prefer pictures, mostly because I visit a lot of blogs and don't really linger long enough over a post to view a video. Plus for some reason when looking at antique booth stuff, I find the movement to be too much of a distraction. Not sure why! Love the Woodstock; he'd never survive intact at my GoodWill. I swear 90% of the stuff there is broken or chipped, and I don't think it came in that way, either. -HelenesBooth42 on facebook

    1. Thanks for your honesty. Personally I like both pictures and videos, so I will probably do a mixture of both in the future :-)

  4. Hi friend! Was at Cliff's yesterday and spied an adorable metal squirrel with basket and lo and behold, it was your booth! Ooh, the booth of a celebrity...very cute, felt familiar. You've done a great job with your display. So, bought squirrel and he is sitting her with me. The stuff that I was coveting in other booths weren't marked down 50% so Nutty was my only buy. Besides, I have stuff to SELL and should NOT be buying. Anything. Ever...well, unless it is a wicked cute squirrel toothpick holder. Or teeny, tiny acorns.

  5. I like them both though I am usually partial to photos. And how cool is that above comment!? I love it when my blog friends actually get to see my actual booth.
